Winning a scholarship can be difficult. This is why it is super important to narrow down your choices. Here are some targeted scholarships for transfer students.

The more parameters you can add like transfer, your ethnicity, your status (first-gen), etc. the better since it narrows down choices.

To make the most out of applying for scholarships, make sure you save yourself ample time (20-30 days minimum) to research, write (if any), and submit everything.

Try to apply for scholarships whenever you have time, since one you win, that can save you a ton of tuition.

Some scholarships also offer living expenses, meals, and extra costs associated with college, so take advantage and apply to as many as you can!

Darrel Hess Community college Geography Scholarship

Deadline: Dec. 31, 2022

Award: $1,500 and formal certificate of merit

Eligibility:

  • Students currently enrolled at a U.S. community college, junior college, city college, or two-year educational institution
  • Must have completed at least 2 transfer courses in geography and plan to transfer to a four-year institution as a geography major 

Application Requirements:

  • Online application form
  • Unofficial transcripts
  • 2 letters of reference

Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship

Deadline: Jan. 12, 2023

Award: $55,000 per year to attend a four-year accredited undergraduate school

Eligibility:

  • Sophomore status 
  • Student currently enrolled at a U.S. community college or two-year institution with sophomore status by January 1, 2023, or a recent grad (since Spring 2018)
  • Plan to enroll in a baccalaureate program at an accredited college or university in fall 2023
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale
  • Demonstrate unmet financial need with a maximum gross income of $95,000
  • No previous enrollment or attendance at a four-year institution

ADEA/MouthWatch Patti DiGangi Scholarship

Deadline: Nov. 1, 2022

Award: $1,000

Eligibility:

  • Must be a full-time student in an accredited program in dental hygiene or public health in the U.S. or Canada
  • Have completed at least one year of the program
  • Have good academic standing
  • Be an ADEA member
  • Demonstrate achievements in research, community service, leadership, personal growth, etc. that relate to career goals

Application Requirements:

  • A letter of recommendation from a dental hygiene faculty member discussing the applicant’s qualities
  • A summary of insights – achievements, community service, leadership, personal growth, etc.
  • A current curriculum vitae
  • Transcripts

ADEA/Crest Oral-B Scholarship

Deadline: Nov. 1, 2022

Award: $3,000

Eligibility:

  • Be enrolled in a bachelor’s or graduate degree program in dental hygiene at an ADEA Member Institution
  • Show commitment to advancing in an academic career in dental hygiene
  • Be an ADEA member

Application Requirements:

  • Transcript
  • Personal statement – experiences, influences, and decision-making
  • Individual letters of nomination and evaluation from two faculty members
  • A letter of recommendation 

Beauty & Wellness Scholarship for Women

Deadline: 11:59 PM PST on Jan. 1st, Mar. 31st, Jun. 30th, and Sept. 30th every year

Award: $1,000 and a care package with organic products

 Eligibility:

  • Must be a current college undergraduate or graduate student studying at a 4-year, 2-year, vocational, or technical institution in the U.S.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident
  • Must identify as a female
  • All majors are encouraged to apply
  • All GPAs are welcome

Eligibility:

  • Must be enrolled or be enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited college or university
  • No minimum GPA requirements
  • All domestic, international, and undocumented students are eligible to apply

Application Requirements:

  • 3-5 minute comedic video that showcases your comedic talent
    • Could be improv, scripted skits, or comedic storytelling
  • Proof of enrollment in an accredited college or university
    • Can be a transcript, receipt, or acceptance letter

Cleanup Expert Scholarship

Deadline: Dec. 31, 2022

Award: First Place – $4,000; Second Place – $2,500

Eligibility:

  • U.S. citizen
  • High school seniors who have been accepted to an accredited U.S. college or students currently enrolled at an accredited U.S. college
  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.00

Application Requirements:

  • A 1,800 to 2,500-word essay OR create a 15-20 minute video on one of the 14 topics
